Catan 2015: Traders & Barbarians (English)

Traders and Barbarians is the fourth expansion for Catan (also known as Settlers or Settlers of Catan).

The expansion is a collection of mini-expansions released over several years, plus two new scenarios to vary your base game. The scenarios change the victory conditions and strategies radically. In one of the new scenarios, for example, the island of Catan has to be rebuilt after an attack by barbarians.

A number of smaller variants are also included, which can be added one at a time to the base game or used together with other expansions:

• Event cards that replace the dice. The deck has a distribution of numbers that matches the probability of rolling a given number with two dice
• 2-player variant that makes Catan more fun to play with only 2 players
• Harbormaster card, which works like the longest trade route and the largest army. Here, however, 2 points are awarded for having the most harbours

Note: The English edition of Catan has wooden pieces and larger cards than the Danish one, so it only works with other English expansions. In addition, the 2015 edition has thicker terrain tiles, which fit the 2015 base game best.
