In this expansion for the classic Catan (also known as Settlers or Settlers of Catan), the days of sitting on your hands and passively harvesting raw materials are over.

The island of Catan is under attack from fearsome barbarians, who will of course try to plunder your cities. So besides fighting your opponents, as you are used to from the base game, you also have to build up an army that can keep the barbarians away.

Byer & Riddere also introduces three new resources that can be used to upgrade your cities, as well as some new development cards that make the game even more exciting and varied.

This expansion is recommended for everyone who loves the base game but would like an extra strategic dimension.

Note: The Danish edition of Catan has plastic pieces and smaller cards than the English one, so it only works together with other Danish expansions.
