Codenames Duet is an edition of the popular party game Codenames adapted for 2 people.

Codenames Duet keeps some of the most essential elements of the original game – giving hints with words to get someone to guess your “agents” – but now the two of you work together towards a shared goal instead of competing against each other.

25 words are laid out on the table. A “key card” is set up so that each of you can see your own side. Each player can then see the 5×5 cards lying on the table, of which 9 are marked in green (your agents) and 3 are black (assassins). Three of the nine green squares are also green on the other side of the card, but there are 6 others that are green as well. One of the black ones also recurs. Together you must now find all 15 agents without hitting a black assassin before time runs out. Either player can choose to give a hint, which the other player then tries to guess. Hit an assassin and you lose.
