Dixit Odyssey (Danish)

Dixit is a great game for creative and inventive players.

At the heart of Dixit are the 84 unique cards with beautiful and imaginative illustrations.

Each player holds 6 cards and they take turns being the ‘storyteller’. The storyteller chooses a card from their hand and says a sentence based on the illustration on the chosen card. There are no rules for what may be said; only imagination sets the limit. Anything is allowed.
The other players then also choose a card from their hand that fits what the storyteller has said. The chosen cards are shuffled together with the storyteller’s card and placed face up in the middle of the table.

All players except the storyteller now have to guess which card is the storyteller’s. Points are awarded as follows:

• If nobody OR everybody guesses the right card, the storyteller gets 0 points and all other players get 2 points.
• If the above is not the case, the storyteller and all players who voted for the storyteller’s card get 3 points.
• All players get 1 point for each vote their card receives.

It may sound more complicated than it really is, but the idea is simple: the storyteller must be neither too obvious nor too vague in describing the chosen card, and that is exactly where the game gets really interesting.

Dixit has won a host of awards and is easy to get into. The game is also well suited to a course on fairy tales in Danish lessons or a course focusing on creativity.

Dixit Odyssey is played in the same way as the original Dixit. With Dixit Odyssey you get 84 cards with new and unique illustrations and the option of playing with up to 12 players.

Dixit Odyssey can be played on its own, or you can choose to use the cards as an expansion for the original Dixit.
