Dutch Blitz

In Dutch Blitz each player has their own pile of forty cards with values from 1-10, showing boys and girls respectively. At the start of each round, each player lays three cards face up in front of them and makes a pile of ten cards in which only the top card is visible (the blitz pile) – the rest are held in the hand face down.

Everyone plays at the same time, and each player tries to empty their blitz pile. Cards can be played either in ascending order onto piles in the middle of the table – or onto one of the three piles in front of the player in descending value – but only if boy cards and girl cards alternate. Cards may be moved between the three piles as long as the rules are followed. A player who cannot play a card may draw three cards from their hand, place them in a face-up pile, and play them if possible.

As soon as a player empties their blitz pile, the round ends. Each player scores 1 point for every card they have played to the middle of the table and loses 2 points for every card left in their blitz pile. The players then sort all the cards and play a new round. As soon as at least one player has 75 points, the game ends, and the player with the most points wins.

This edition can be played by up to 4 players. It can be combined with Dutch Blitz: Blue Expansion or Dutch Blitz: Purple Expansion for up to 8 players.
