Once Upon a Time is a storytelling game in which the players together create a fairy tale from the cards each of them holds in hand.

One player starts as the storyteller and has to create a story from the cards he or she holds. Each card represents an element or a character typical of classic fairy tales.

The storyteller tries to steer the story towards the ending that he or she holds in hand. The other players try to interrupt the story and make themselves the storyteller, so that in the end they can get rid of their own “they lived happily ever after” card.
