Tricky Kids

Welcome to the playground. In Tricky Kids, you and your classmates trade toys and snacks in a chaotic kids’ economy where value is entirely made up. It is a trick-taking game with a twist: you write the numbers on your cards yourselves. At the start of each round, you assign values adding up to 21 to the cards in your hand, then use those cards to try to win tricks and collect points.

Each round consists of 7 tricks, but the aim is to win tricks strategically, not just often. Each trick earns you a point token, and you always claim the leftmost available token (so timing matters). The tokens have different values depending on which suit won the trick, so both when and how you win are decisive.

The game is played over 3 rounds, and after a total of 21 tricks the player with the most points wins. But beware: if your card values add up to more than 21 at the end of a round, you lose all the points you have just earned … and possibly some from earlier rounds too.

With optional ‘Tricky Rule’ cards to mix things up each round (such as passing your hand, playing with cards in two suits or unexpected winning conditions), Tricky Kids keeps players guessing and giggling in every game.
