In the first expansion for the classic Catan (also known as Settlers of Catan or Settlers) the players put to sea. Seafarers contains a number of scenarios in which the island of Catan is split into smaller islands that can only be reached with the boats the players can now build.

Seafarers offers much more variation, so for anyone growing a little tired of harvesting resources on the same island in every single game, Seafarers is an obvious expansion.

The set comes with a number of pre-built scenarios that change the strategies from game to game.

Note: The English edition of Catan has wooden pieces and larger cards than the Danish one, so it only works with other English expansions. In addition, the 2015 edition has thicker terrain tiles, which fit the 2015 base game best.
