Charge & Spark

In Charge & Spark, you and your opponent try to reduce each other’s health to 0 or to be the first to reach the goal space in the middle of the board. As there are two potential goals, you must consider your opponent’s position and work to counter their dominant strategy they can slip right past you if you are not careful.

In this game, players each choose a card to play for the turn and reveal them simultaneously. Certain cards have effects that cancel each other out (Barrier reduces damage, Trap or damage prevents movement, Counter reflects damage, etc.), so it is important to consider which resources your opponent has available in a given turn. After paying the associated cost (if any) and resolving the card effects for the turn, used cards are placed in each player’s recharge area. If there is already a card in the recharge area at this point, it is returned to that player’s hand. Looking at the card in your opponent’s recharge area gives you a better idea of what they can do next.
