Codenames Duet is an edition of the popular party game Codenames adapted for 2 players.

Codenames Duet keeps some of the most important elements of the original game – giving one-word clues to get someone to guess your ‘agents’ – but now the two of you work together towards a shared goal instead of competing against each other.

25 words are laid out on the table. A ‘key card’ is drawn, and each of you can see your own side of it. Each player then sees the 5×5 cards on the table, where 9 are marked in green (your agents) and 3 are black (assassins). Three of the nine green squares are also green on the other side of the card, but there are 6 others that are green as well. One of the black squares is also repeated. Together you now have to find all 15 agents without hitting a black assassin before time runs out. Either player can choose to give a clue, which the partner then tries to guess. Hit an assassin and you lose.
