Cubist

In Cubist, you and your opponents are architects competing to build a magnificent and inspiring new museum of modern art, including its interior sculptures or “installations”. Fittingly, your building materials are cubes, or more precisely, dice.

On each turn you roll two dice and place them in your studio as raw materials for your cubist sculptures. From there you place these dice to complete commissioned installations for the museum. Dice with identical numbers can be stacked on top of each other to give your sculpture height and splendour. Dice with adjacent numbers are placed next to each other to construct unconventional footprints of modernism. You can try your luck by committing to a particular risky commission hoping that nobody else completes it first or play it safe by locking your dice away for later use.

You can also use your dice to get help from masters of modern art such as Juan Gris, Franz Marc and Olga Rozanova. Each installation you complete lets you contribute dice to the construction of the museum itself. You must sculpt cleverly, but quickly, to have the new museum named after you.
