Downstream is a puzzly 2-player mapping game in which the players create a river and try to enrich their own shoreline.

During the game, players add cards to a growing river ecosystem; each card either extends the flow of the water or is tucked away to extend existing banks.

Cards that extend the flow add scoring features to both shores, while tucking a card away means a missed opportunity to influence the course of the water.

Players compete to achieve a varying set of goals in each game, and the resulting rivers each have their own personality.
