Evolution is a fun strategy game in which the players get to develop their own animal species from scratch. Some species are large and fearsome, while others are small and fast. As the game progresses, the players can use their animals to find food, e.g. by eating the other players’ animals. It is therefore important to develop your species so that they can stand up to the other players’ animals in the struggle for survival and food.

Evolution offers many interesting strategies and is based mainly on cards that the players use to adapt their species. The game has a certain degree of confrontation, but that is not what carries it. You can, for example, have species that eat only plants, and then it is mainly a matter of being biggest or fastest when the food is shared out. In the 2nd edition the amount of food available has been tightened up, so it is far from certain that there is enough for everyone. And as we all know, only the strongest survive.
