A classic brain teaser, devised in 1883 by the French mathematician douard Lucas and since produced in many variants with different numbers of discs. This version is made of wood and has 9 discs.

The task is to move all the discs from one peg to another, so that they end up stacked from large to small. Three rules apply along the way:

  • Only the top disc of a stack may be moved.
  • Only one disc may be moved at a time.
  • A disc may only be placed on top of a larger disc, never on a smaller one.
