Insider

Do we have free will at all? Who decides? Are we in fact controlled by the things we see and hear, and only believe that we think for ourselves?

Insider is a game that asks that kind of question. By talking to each other, the players have to find the right answer to a question and at the same time work out who the ‘insider’ is, the one trying to manipulate the discussion. The insider will do everything possible to keep that identity hidden.

Everyone is dealt a random role. One player is the ‘master’ and secretly chooses a word from a card. The insider, whose identity nobody knows, is then allowed to see the word. The rest of the players now have 5 minutes to try to guess the word by asking the master ‘yes’ and ‘no’ questions. The insider tries, as discreetly as possible, to steer the other players towards the word. If they fail, everyone loses. If they succeed, a sand timer is turned and everyone now tries to guess who the insider was. If they fail, the insider wins. If they succeed, everyone else wins.

A fun, compact and different werewolf-style party game.
