A beautiful wooden puzzle box with a small handmade figure on top. Five sections come apart to reveal 2 secret compartments. There are two challenges – opening the box and closing it again.

Karakuri boxes are based on the traditional ‘secret boxes’ from the Hakone Odawara region of Japan. Each box opens with a unique mechanism, invented from scratch by Karakuri’s designers. Some are simple, while others take several steps of pushing, shaking and turning. Every box is carefully cut and assembled by hand.

The box has two small cavities that are ideal for hiding a small gift. Solution included.
