Wooden puzzle box shaped like a die, designed by Akio Kamei. The pips on the sides are the key to the mechanism but simply pressing them is not enough.

Karakuri boxes build on the traditional puzzle boxes of Hakone-Odawara in Japan. Each box has its own mechanism, devised by Karakuri Creation Group’s own designers; some open with a single move, others take a long sequence of pushes, turns and shakes. Every box is cut and assembled by hand.
