In the classic Le Havre the aim – as the name suggests – is to make the best deals and build up a business at the harbour in the French town of Le Havre.

A player’s turn consists of two parts: first the newly arrived goods are distributed at the harbour, then the player carries out an action. Here the player must choose either to take all the goods available on one space of the game board or to use one of the available buildings. In the buildings, players’ goods can be upgraded, sold or traded, and the buildings can become an important source of income for a player, since other players have to pay a fee to use them. Ships are needed if a player is to obtain enough food for their workers, and the player who ends up with the most points from their buildings, ships and money is the winner.

Le Havre is a solid, classic strategy game for those who like having many options and giving the little grey cells a workout while playing.
