Nessie’s True Identity (matchbox)

“Is that what I think it is…!?”

As the only witness to the mythical creature, you intend to protect Nessie while leaving hints for the enthusiasts and keeping the myth popular.

In Nessie’s True Identity the Nessie figure is placed at one end of the table and the ship at the other, with the five letters W H A T ? lying between them. One of the players thinks of a noun that serves as Nessie’s true identity – the others now try to guess this word. If nobody guesses correctly, the ship is moved further away from Nessie and one of the letters is stood up.

If one of the players guesses correctly, this must not be revealed as the player guesses. Instead, the ship is moved closer to Nessie at the end of the round, once everyone has guessed. The players may now vote on who they think gave the right answer. If more than half identify the right answer, they win. If not, the player who came up with the word wins. If all five rounds pass without anyone guessing it, there are no winners.

This is a small, travel-friendly edition of the game.
