Paleo is an adventurous cooperative game set in the Stone Age – 10,000 years before our era. The players’ foremost task is to keep the people in their care alive while completing their missions. Sometimes fur is needed, at other times a tent, but the most important mission of all is to get a woolly mammoth drawn on the rock wall, so that the future will know of their existence.

And what might keep you from drawing the mammoth on the wall? Death.

The players start the game with a handful of people, each with some skills and a certain number of life points. They take turns visiting a location without knowing what awaits them. Perhaps food, perhaps a useful object – and perhaps a snake with a deadly bite.

If a player has not gathered enough food and enough resources for their group of people at the end of the day, another skull is added to the score board. When the player has accumulated too many skulls, it is time to admit that life is for fools and welcome death.
