In Project L you puzzle with attractive acrylic pieces in Tetris-like shapes. The game contains a range of pieces in different shapes and cards in 2 different levels of difficulty, which you try to fill. On your turn you can exchange a piece for a piece one level up, add a piece to one of your goal cards or take a new goal card to fill later. Each time you complete a goal card you get the pieces back, and possibly new pieces and points. The game centres on building an “engine” that gives you new and better pieces as the game goes on.

If you like games such as Azul, Copenhagen or Patchwork, Project L is one for you. But be prepared for the risk of grey hairs in this “brain burner” of a game.
