In Germany before the Second World War, feelings run high between liberals and fascists in parliament.

Secret Hitler is a game of political intrigue and betrayal in 1930s Germany. Each player is given a secret role as either liberal or fascist, and one player is Secret Hitler. The fascists must sow distrust and bring their leader to power, while the liberals must find and stop Secret Hitler before it is too late.

Each round the players elect a president and a chancellor, who together enact a law from the deck of cards. If the law turns out to be fascist, the table has to work out whether someone betrayed them or whether it was just bad luck. The more fascist laws are enacted, the more powers the government gains and the fascists use them to create chaos.

The liberals win by enacting five liberal laws or by assassinating Secret Hitler. The fascists win with six fascist laws, or by getting Secret Hitler elected chancellor after three laws have been enacted.
