Things in Rings

Can you place the things in the right rings in this brain-teasing board game?

Things in Rings is based on the familiar Venn diagram, in which each circle has a particular rule or property. It could be, for example, “words with 2 syllables”, “soft things” or “things you are allowed to take on a plane”. Where the rings overlap, the rules of both rings apply. The aim of the game is to work out the rules of the individual rings by placing cards showing different things.

One player is “The Knower”, who knows the rules in advance and places 3 cards correctly in the rings. The other players then draw 5 cards and take turns placing a card in the rings. The Knower says whether the card has been placed correctly. If it has, the player may play another card – if it is wrong, The Knower places the card correctly and the player must draw a card into their hand. As more and more cards are laid in the rings, the players gain more information that they can use to work out the rules. The first player to get rid of all 5 cards has won.

Also includes a cooperative version.
