Voidheart Symphony Revised Edition

Psychic revolution in the shadows of your city.

Dive into a demon-filled labyrinth to protect the people you love, and make the world a little better each time.

Voidheart Symphony is a role-playing game about ordinary people fighting the good fight against supernatural forces that want to control, diminish and disempower them. The revised edition (new for 2025) expands the setting and updates the rules.

The players are rebels, individuals fighting to protect the people and places they love from the malevolent forces of the Castle. They fight in the real world, study their targets and learn their weaknesses, then dive into their enemies’ psychic palaces to defeat them. No group of rebels can manage alone: they draw strength from their friends, their families and the communities around them, something the Castle’s coercion and control cannot compete with.

Play combines investigation and keeping an everyday life on track (someone has to pay the rent, after all) with cinematic battles, and produces stories about a particular group of people making their part of the world better. It is about strength, hope and triumph, though not without cost.

With mechanics Powered by the Apocalypse, it is closely tailored to the stories players want to tell, and it is easy to learn for anyone who has played other PbtA games.

Use the brand-new Kick in the Door chapter as a guided walkthrough to learn as you play, then move on to long-running campaigns or short one-shots with equally satisfying results
