Hametsu is a monster-hunting game for one or more players, set in a post-apocalyptic feudal Japan. The players are hunters trained to fight the tide of Oni demons and mythical creatures unleashed by The Cataclysm, and can choose between nine classes spread across three schools.

A game begins with the element of surprise: the Oni wander around the table unaware that the hunters are there. Once the alarm is raised, the hunters are pursued until the boss appears and has to be defeated. Completed hunts earn levels, new abilities, equipment and ancient artefacts on the class’s legendary path.
