Tower Chess is a chess variant played on a 6×6 board, with two fewer pawns on each side, no knights, and flat discs in place of three-dimensional pieces.

Apart from the size of the board, the main twist is that pieces are stacked rather than removed. When a piece moves, only the top piece of a stack moves. Pieces that have been covered can move again once everything on top of them has gone. Players can also capture their own pieces by landing on them.

As usual, the winner is the first player to capture the opponent’s king, here by placing a piece on top of it.
